ISLAMABAD: As the new year begins, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt congratulations to the nation, expressing hope that the year 2025 will bring progress and prosperity. In a special message to the people of Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the challenges faced in 2024 and conveyed his optimism for a better future.
Prime Minister Sharif stated, “As we enter 2025, I wish to congratulate the entire nation. My prayer is that the new year allows us to correct our individual and collective mistakes and embark on a fresh start.”
Reflecting on the difficulties of 2024, he noted the global economic, political, and security crises that had impacted many nations, including Pakistan. However, he expressed hope that 2025 would bring positive developments in overcoming these crises.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the improvements in Pakistan’s economic indicators in 2024, with international financial institutions showing confidence in the country’s economy. He emphasized that the year saw significant investments from friendly nations, and Pakistan made strides in the digitization of its economy.
“As we enter 2025, we have set the economy on the path to self-reliance,” said Sharif, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to a stable, bright, and prosperous future.
Prime Minister Sharif also reflected on the tragic events of 2024, particularly the escalating violence in Palestine and Kashmir. “The year 2024 was marked by the worst atrocities in Palestine, where Israeli forces committed brutal acts against the people. Similarly, in Indian-occupied Kashmir, our brothers and sisters continued to suffer at the hands of Indian forces. My hope is that in 2025, both Palestine and Kashmir will succeed in their struggles for freedom.”
In closing, Prime Minister Sharif prayed for a new year where the sun of prosperity and peace rises for the nation and the world.
