Turkish Ambassador Irfan Naziroglu Praises TIKA’s Efforts in Strengthening Pakistan-Turkey Bond
Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Shines at National Press Club Islamabad's Renovated Conference Hall Inauguration
ISLAMABAD: Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Irfan Naziroglu recently highlighted the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkey, emphasizing their unwavering support for each other in times of joy and sorrow. This sentiment was expressed during the inauguration ceremony of the renovated main conference hall at the National Press Club Islamabad, which was carried out by the Turkish Institute for Cooperation and Mutual Assistance (TIKA).
The ceremony, moderated by NPC Secretary Nayyar Ali, began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by renowned Pakistani reciter Syed Sadaqat Ali. Turkish Ambassador Irfan Naziroglu congratulated the National Press Club’s administration on organizing the grand inauguration ceremony and praised TIKA’s efforts in serving Pakistani brothers.
The renovation of the main conference hall, a collaborative effort between the National Press Club and TIKA, has resulted in a world-class facility. This achievement is a testament to the strong friendship between Pakistan and Turkey. Dorsan Ali Yasagan, Head of Department at TEKA, reiterated his commitment to continuing cooperation with the Press Club, emphasizing the unparalleled friendship between the two nations.
President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Afzal Butt thanked the TEKA team for their cooperation in renovating the main conference hall. He acknowledged this achievement as a proud moment for the current National Press Club administration, particularly Senior Vice President Ehtishamul Haq. The contributions of former presidents Tariq Chaudhry, Shakeel Anjum, and Anwar Raza to the construction and renovation of the National Press Club were also recognized.
National Press Club President Azhar Jatoi expressed gratitude to TEKA for their cooperation, stating that the renovation of the main conference hall exemplifies the club’s efforts to provide world-class facilities to its members. Secretary of the National Press Club noted that the completion of the conference hall, with TIKA’s support, marks a historic opportunity for journalists in the twin cities.
The ceremony also featured a poem recited by Secretary NPC, written by senior journalist and poet Sajjad Lakha, highlighting the bravery of the great Turks. NPC Senior Vice President Hatshamul Haque expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Turkish Ambassador, the Turkish government, and TIKA Head Mohsen Balchi for their valuable services.

Mohsen Balchi’s dedication and hard work have significantly contributed to TIKA’s successful completion of over 70 projects in Pakistan during his three-year tenure. These projects include initiatives at Islamia University Peshawar, GC University Lahore, Women’s University of Rawalpindi, and the first pet clinic in the government sector in Rawalpindi. TIKA’s efforts have made a lasting impact on Pakistan, and their commitment to cooperation with the National Press Club is a testament to the strong bond between the two nations.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields to distinguished guests, including Turkish Ambassador Irfan Naziroglu and TIKA representatives. The guests also planted saplings on the National Press Club lawn, symbolizing the growing friendship between Pakistan and Turkey.
