Umar Ayub and Raja Basharat Among Five PTI Leaders Released on Bail

Umar Ayub, Raja Basharat, and Ahmad Chatha were presented before the ATC, where Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the cases.

Islamabad: Opposition Leader Umar Ayub and former provincial minister Raja Basharat, along with three other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, were released after their post-arrest bail was granted by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi.

Umar Ayub, Raja Basharat, and Ahmad Chatha were presented before the ATC, where Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the cases. During the proceedings, the court expressed strong disapproval of the arrests, particularly questioning why the PTI leaders were detained despite having been granted bail by the Peshawar High Court.

Following the hearing, the court ordered the release of Umar Ayub and Raja Basharat. This came after the PTI leaders were arrested the previous day in connection with the GHQ attack case, following the formal charge being framed against them.
