NAB Recovers Rs 1.1 Billion in GDA Case, Exposes Irregularities in Lease Agreements

Islamabad(Mudassar Iqbal)_The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has successfully recovered Rs 1.1 billion in the Gilgit Development Authority (GDA) case, exposing irregularities and defects in lease agreements of government rest houses and Shangri-la Hotel. The investigation revealed that the GDA had outsourced 14 government rest houses in 2017, reducing the government’s share to seven percent, resulting in a loss of over Rs 76 crore to the national exchequer.

Through NAB’s efforts, the lease agreements have been restored with an annual increase of 15%, boosting GDA’s income by more than Rs 76 crore. The recovery of Rs 1.1 billion is a significant achievement for NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demonstrating its commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring transparency in government dealings.
