Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz introduces a major housing initiative aimed at offering affordable homes to the public, continuing the legacy of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Punjab-Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz introduced the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” initiative on Wednesday, aimed at offering affordable housing to the public.

In her address, Maryam Nawaz expressed pride in the program’s establishment, highlighting the government’s dedication to swiftly constructing homes for those in need. “We have successfully developed this scheme, and we will ensure that houses are built and handed over to the people as soon as possible,” she remarked.

The Chief Minister also noted that both she and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been eagerly anticipating the launch of this initiative. She mentioned that during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, land was distributed to farmers, and this initiative is a continuation of that legacy.

Maryam Nawaz underscored the significant impact of homeownership, stating, “It is said that providing someone with a home and shelter is the greatest service one can offer.” To support this effort, she announced that the government would extend an interest-free loan of 15 lakh for 5 marla plots in urban areas and 10 marla plots in rural areas. Additionally, she mentioned that no payments would be required for the first three months.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz shared further details about the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme, highlighting its affordability. She mentioned that the monthly installment for the housing plan would be 14,000 rupees. “I understand the challenges faced by low-income families, and this scheme is designed to alleviate their financial burden,” she explained.

In addition to the housing initiative, Maryam Nawaz announced a significant relief package for electricity bills, totaling between 45 and 50 billion rupees.

She also revealed plans for Pakistan’s largest-ever solar program, set to launch next year, which she believes could eventually eliminate the need for electricity bills. “Next year, Maryam Nawaz will introduce the biggest solar program in history, so you won’t have to pay electricity bills in the future,” she stated.

The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” initiative stands as a key component of Maryam Nawaz’s broader efforts to provide relief and enhance the living standards of Punjab’s citizens.
