Fourth Monsoon Spell to Hit Punjab from July 22

Lahore: The fourth spell of monsoon rains is set to commence in Punjab from July 22, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
From July 22 to 25, various regions in Punjab can expect monsoon showers, with thunderstorms and rain anticipated in southern districts from July 23 to 24. Areas expected to be affected include Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Multan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Gujrat divisions.
PDMA has issued alerts to the relevant authorities regarding the weather conditions. Director General PDMA Irfan Khatia emphasized that, following the directives of the Chief Minister, all departments should remain on high alert and complete preemptive measures, especially in major cities.
Khatia instructed commissioners, deputy commissioners, WASA, the irrigation department, rescue services, civil defense, and other related departments to stay vigilant. He assured that the PDMA control room is monitoring the situation 24/7.

DG PDMA also stated that river and dam water levels remain normal during the monsoon rains. He urged the public to adhere to government advisories, stay away from old buildings and power poles, and seek shelter during thunderstorms.
