Bilawal Urges Government to Tackle Economic Hardships, Not Political Fights

PPP chairman says the public needs relief first and asks all sides to work together on reforms

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has asked the federal government to take economic hardships seriously and work with all sides. He spoke on Friday at a groundbreaking ceremony in Larkana.

“People in Pakistan are finding it hard to live,” he said. He added that the government should first solve the problems of ordinary people instead of getting into political fights.

Bilawal said every country must look after its citizens first. In his view, protecting people from economic hardships is the biggest task today.

He questioned the government’s approach. “If we keep fighting the PTI, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, terrorists, India and Afghanistan, we will stay busy with that. When will we think about the economy?” he asked.

He advised the government to talk to everyone and leave political differences aside.

Call for PTI in the Reforms Committee

On electoral reforms, Bilawal said the PTI should take part in the committee made to discuss changes. He asked opposition leaders in the National Assembly and Senate to include the party without conditions.

He said PTI founder Imran Khan had given them full authority to decide. The PPP had already reached out to these leaders and asked them to name their members.

Bilawal said the opposition had earlier demanded that Khan be freed or allowed to meet party leaders first. Now that he has given them authority, he said, they should go ahead.

He also noted that both the PTI and some government members have raised rigging claims. If everyone feels elections were manipulated, he said, the committee can be a good place to start.

Meeting With the Prime Minister

Bilawal called his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif positive. He said both sides had worked on a joint plan.

He said the PPP had supported the federal budgets, and the Centre was now helping with development projects. However, he said Balochistan still complains about missing federal projects. He also suggested that the prime minister hold cabinet meetings in the provinces.

New Hospital for Larkana

Speaking about the 600-bed hospital, Bilawal said Chandka Hospital was a gift from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, but it can no longer handle the growing number of patients.

He said people from Balochistan, including Naseerabad, also travel to Larkana for treatment.

The PPP wants to offer world-class healthcare, he said, and no one should miss treatment because of money. He added that Sindh is spending Rs45 billion on higher education and is also improving health services across the province.
