PTF Announces Major Breakthroughs in International Tennis Relations”

Pakistan to Host ITF Futures Events and Asian U/16 Championship Qualifiers”

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is thrilled to announce a series of significant achievements and future plans aimed at enhancing the sport of tennis in Pakistan. Under the dynamic leadership of President Aisam Ul Haq, PTF has successfully secured numerous international events and garnered substantial support from global tennis bodies.

During his recent visit to London, President Aisam Ul Haq leveraged his extensive personal connections within the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) to gain their backing for various initiatives. Notably, the ITF has granted Pakistan the rights to host four ITF Futures events, providing a 50% grant to ensure their success. Additionally, after a six-year hiatus, Pakistan will once again host ITF Senior’s Events, marking a significant milestone for the country’s tennis landscape.

In another groundbreaking development, the ATF has awarded Pakistan the hosting rights for next year’s Asian U/16 Championship’s qualifying event. This will be the first time such a prestigious multi-country tournament will be held in Pakistan, offering young tennis players an invaluable opportunity to compete against top Asian contenders on home soil.

The ATF has also agreed to fund the participation of a Pakistani coach in an upcoming international coaches conference, further enhancing the country’s coaching capabilities. President Aisam Ul Haq’s meeting with ITF officials also yielded positive outcomes for the development of wheelchair tennis in Pakistan. The ITF commended the efforts of Karachi’s unit under Mr. Khalid Rehmani and pledged to provide coaches and staff to support these initiatives.

Moreover, two promising young Pakistani players will receive a month-long training opportunity in Kazakhstan, courtesy of the ATF.

President Aisam Ul Haq’s discussions with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) proved fruitful as well. The ATP has not only congratulated him on his presidency but also extended their full support for his developmental plans. In a landmark achievement, the ATP has granted Pakistan the hosting rights for an ATP Challenger event, along with a significant financial subsidy. This event is set to be a major boost for tennis in Pakistan. An ATP security assessment team will visit next month to ensure the necessary security clearances for Islamabad and Lahore, providing flexibility in planning this historic event.
