German consulate suspends visa services; Here’s why

KARACHI: The German Consulate in Karachi has announced the temporary suspension of its services to non-EU citizens due to security concerns.
As per the details, this important development was announced through an official tweet posted from the consulate’s account.
“Due to imminent security concerns, the consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany will be closed for services to non-EU nationals until further notice,” the consulate statement read.
While the consulate has stopped processing new visa applications for non-EU nationals, it has made arrangements for those with existing visas. The consulate assured that non-EU nationals whose visas have been processed can still collect them.
“Pre-issued visas may be obtained for non-EU nationals,” the statement added.
