PM Criticizes Delay in CTD Establishment Despite 590 Billion Allocation to KP

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed concern over the delayed establishment of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, despite the province receiving 590 billion rupees under the NFC Award. Responding to Asad Qaiser’s remarks in the National Assembly, PM Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the sacrifices of KP due to terrorism and emphasized equitable distribution of resources among provinces.
PM Shehbaz highlighted that while KP received substantial funds post-terrorism, he underscored the need for effective implementation, including the appointment of a Chief Secretary. He expressed disappointment over the lack of response from the provincial government on the matter.

Punjab Assembly Session Disrupted: Supplementary Budget Approval Delayed
Lahore: The Punjab Assembly was unable to approve the supplementary budget due to loud disruptions and protests from opposition members.
During Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s speech, opposition members shouted slogans and caused a commotion, leading to the suspension of the budget approval process. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan postponed the session, stating he would use his constitutional authority to maintain order in the future. The session was adjourned until 2 pm tomorrow.

Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari expressed regret over the opposition’s behavior, noting that while her party was in opposition, they never engaged in such disruptive conduct.
