PPP Decides to Support Government in Budget Approval

The decision marks PPP’s stance on fiscal policies and collaborative efforts towards national economic planning.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced its decision to support the government in the approval of the federal budget during a parliamentary party meeting chaired by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Party leader Naveed Qamar confirmed PPP’s intention to vote in favor of the budget, following negotiations and agreements reached with the government. Discussions included key demands and issues concerning the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) allocation across provinces.

While expressing disappointment over consultation gaps on PSDP matters, Qamar highlighted ongoing dialogues between PPP and government officials, including the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, statements from League members criticizing PPP were reviewed, with party members providing input on budget-related decisions. In a previous session, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had empowered members to exercise their discretion on voting for the budget.
