ECP Ensures Transparency in Political Financing, Urges Parties to Fulfill Obligations

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a reminder to all political parties that contested the General Election 2024, emphasizing their obligations under Section 211 of the Election Act, 2017, and Rule 161 of the Election Rules, 2017.
In accordance with these regulations, political parties are required to provide a comprehensive list of contributors who donated or contributed an amount equal to or more than one million rupees towards their election campaigns. Additionally, parties must furnish details of election expenses incurred in Form 68 within sixty days from the date of publication of the names of returned candidates in the official gazette.
The deadline for submission of these documents to the Election Commission of Pakistan has been set for April 22, 2024.
