4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Several Areas of Balochistan

No Lives Lost as Tremors Shake Homes Across Balochistan and Beyond

Balochistan – (Web Desk) – A 4.5 magnitude earthquake sent waves of panic and anxiety through several parts of Balochistan, including the Barkhan district, early Saturday morning. The tremors caught residents off guard, leaving many frightened and rushing out of their homes.

According to officials, the quake originated at a depth of 25 kilometers, with its epicenter located approximately 110 kilometers south-east of Zhob. Thankfully, no casualties or property damage were reported, bringing a sense of relief to the affected communities.

This was not an isolated incident. Just weeks earlier, on April 3, a significantly stronger earthquake — measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale — had also rattled various parts of the country. That tremor struck at 9:13 in the evening, running as deep as 190 kilometers beneath the surface. Its epicenter was traced back to the Hindu Kush Region in neighboring Afghanistan.

Residents in earthquake-prone areas are once again being reminded of the importance of staying calm, staying informed, and being prepared for such natural events. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity across the region.
