177 Pakistanis Deported From Libya Return Home After Benghazi Jail Release
177 Pakistanis Deported From Libya After Failed Attempt to Reach Europe
Pakistanis & Libya – (Web Desk) – A total of 177 Pakistanis deported from Libya have finally returned home after being held in a Benghazi jail. These individuals had illegally entered Libya hoping to cross over to Europe but were caught before they could make it.
Libyan authorities confirmed that the deportees had used irregular and dangerous migration routes to reach Libya. They were brought back to Pakistan on a special flight arranged for this purpose.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken serious notice of the incident. The names of human traffickers and smuggling agents who helped arrange these illegal trips have been added to the FIA’s “Red Book.” More suspects are currently under investigation.
According to officials, most of the deportees came from major Pakistani cities. Lahore had the highest number with 59 individuals, followed closely by Gujrat with 58. Rawalpindi contributed 26, Gujranwala 23, Sialkot 10, and one person was from Islamabad.
Investigators revealed that these individuals did not travel directly to Libya. They passed through Iran and Saudi Arabia before eventually reaching Libya, highlighting how long and risky these illegal journeys really are.
After landing in Pakistan, all 177 deportees were handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for initial screening. They will soon be transferred to their respective FIA zonal offices for further questioning and legal action.
