Seven Dead After Fire Hits Russia’s Amur Gas Plant
MOSCOW: (News Desk) – A fire at a gas chemical plant in Russia’s Amur region has killed seven people, including six Chinese nationals, according to the plant’s management.
The blaze broke out at the Amur chemical facility, where nine Chinese workers remain unaccounted for, authorities and company officials said.
Media reports said 152 people received medical treatment following the incident, while 36 injured workers were hospitalized. Helicopters were deployed to help evacuate some of the injured and transport them to medical facilities.
The Amur chemical plant is being developed through cooperation between Russian and Chinese companies. However, the facility had not yet begun commercial production when the fire occurred.
