The government has deported 496 people in Pakistan’s prisons as the arrests of illegal refugees continue across the country.
Authorities said that 144 prisoners from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 271 prisoners from Punjab and 81 prisoners from Punjab were among those deported.
The ministry of interior said that a total of 167,000 refugees had returned to Afghanistan till November 4. A control room has been created in KP to monitor the movement of refugees across the border.
The government began arresting refugees and transferring them to holding camps as soon as the November 1 deadline for their voluntary return expired.
The Sindh Police has successfully coordinated the transfer of 207 Afghan residents, including women, children, and the elderly, to the Balochistan border under the jurisdiction of the Jaffarabad administration. The illegal foreigners were apprehended in Karachi and are now being assisted in their journey back to Afghanistan.
The Sindh Police has demonstrated compassion by ensuring the well-being of these Afghan citizens during their journey.
At the Jaffarabad border, they received essential provisions, including medicines, water, and food.
To facilitate the safe passage of these Afghan residents, the district administration has dispatched eight coaches, which will transport them to the Chaman border.
SHO Dera Allah Yar, Abdal Rauf Jamali said that security measures have been implemented to guarantee a peaceful return of these Afghans.

Law enforcers have arrested 620 illegal immigrants in an operation launched in different areas of the capital of Balochistan province, according to figures released by police on Sunday.
It said 116 illegal immigrants were arrested from City Division, 62 from Quaidabad Division, 323 from Saddar and 119 from Saryab.
All the arrested illegal immigrants have been sent to Chaman border area for deportation.
Meanwhile, 5,246 members of 477 families have been deported via Chaman. They include 1,717 men, 1,367 women and 2,162 children.
