Zone-II Whites Triumph in Woodward Trophy U-17 Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament
Hamza Tahir's 96 Not Enough as Zone-VI Whites Fall Short Against Zone-II Whites
Karachi: Zone-II Whites defeated Zone-VI Whites by 54 runs in their second match of the Woodward Trophy Under-17 Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament at KCCA Stadium. The standout performance came from Aliyan Asif, who remained unbeaten on 65, supported by a solid 57 from Haris Naveed, helping Zone-II Whites post a total of 216/6 in their allotted 40 overs.
In response, Zone-VI Whites could only manage 162 all out in 37.1 overs. Despite a valiant effort from Hamza Tahir, who scored a blistering 96, Zone-VI Whites fell short of the target. The wickets for Zone-II Whites were shared by Muhammad Nadim (3/32), Huzaifa Nazim (3/38), and Jawad Ahmed (2/28).
Aliyan Asif’s brilliant knock earned him the Medicam Man of the Match Award, which was presented to him by Jameel Ahmed, President of Zone-II.
