Zelensky Open Letter Putin Peace Meeting: War Must End

Zelensky’s  vs  Putin – (Web Desk) – Zelensky’s open letter Putin peace meeting proposal has shaken the world of diplomacy as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit down and end more than four years of war. In the letter, Zelensky said both sides must move toward direct talks and that Ukraine is ready for a full ceasefire while negotiations take place.

Zelensky wrote clearly that the majority of Russian people are exhausted. Years of Ukrainian drone and missile strikes, rising prices, and fuel shortages have worn them down. He said the people of Russia are ready for this war to end, even if their leaders have not yet admitted it.

The Ukrainian president also pointed to the United States being deeply involved in the Iran conflict right now. Because of that, Zelensky argued, Ukraine and Russia cannot simply sit and wait for Washington to refocus on Europe. Peace must begin now, he said, starting at the front line itself.

Zelensky was firm about one thing. He does not want a meeting in Moscow or Kyiv. Instead, he suggested neutral countries such as Switzerland, Turkey, or nations in the Arab world as possible venues. He called on Putin to set a specific date and show the world he is serious about ending the bloodshed.

The letter carried a strong warning too. Zelensky reminded Putin that in Russian history, when the people grow tired, change follows. He wrote directly to Putin, telling him not to fear the path out of this war. If Putin refuses to act, Ukraine will keep fighting for its survival, Zelensky made clear.

The Kremlin confirmed it had seen the letter and said Putin would be briefed. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also confirmed the letter would be sent through official diplomatic channels. He called it a serious and meaningful proposal with clear and doable steps toward peace.

The world is now watching to see whether Putin will respond or stay silent.
