President Zardari, Dubai Ruler Discuss Expanding Pakistan-UAE Cooperation

Dubai: (Web Desk) – President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, at Zabeel Palace, where the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in economic, trade and investment sectors. President Zardari congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on completing 20 years as Ruler of Dubai and commended the emirate’s remarkable transformation into a global center for tourism, finance and emerging technologies. The discussions focused on how Pakistan could draw lessons from Dubai’s development model, particularly in ports, logistics, infrastructure, information technology and digital financial services.

President Zardari briefed the UAE leadership on Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms, including measures to facilitate investment and privatization, and explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration in infrastructure development, logistics, food security and technology-driven sectors. He also extended an invitation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to visit Pakistan.

President Zardari Begins UAE Visit to Strengthen Ties

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE and expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral ties. They emphasized the importance of continued high-level exchanges and recalled the recent visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan, acknowledging the UAE’s consistent support for Pakistan’s economic development. The leaders also appreciated the vital role played by the Pakistani community in the UAE in strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries.
