Zara Noor Abbas Breaks Silence Over Viral ‘Like’ Controversy
Zara condemned the culture of sensationalizing ordinary social media interactions
Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistani actress Zara Noor Abbas has responded to the social media buzz surrounding her alleged “like” on a post comparing Sajal Aly and Sahar Hashmi in the drama Zanjeerain, urging people to stop creating unnecessary rivalries between women.
The controversy began after Zara reportedly liked a social media post comparing Sahar Hashmi’s performance in Zanjeerain. The interaction quickly sparked speculation online, with some users interpreting it as criticism of Sajal Aly, while others defended Zara, saying the reaction had been taken out of context.
Breaking her silence through an Instagram Story, Zara shared a strongly worded message criticizing the trend of pitting women against each other.
“Go ahead and put women against each other. Cat call. Label. Take things out of context. Make views and money out of these stupid narratives. I’d be more than happy to have someone pay their bills because of me, us or whatever,” she wrote.
Without mentioning either Sajal Aly or Sahar Hashmi by name, Zara condemned the culture of sensationalizing ordinary social media interactions for clicks and engagement. She also appeared to take a subtle swipe at entertainment pages and blogs, suggesting that some platforms profit by creating unnecessary controversies around celebrities.
Her statement has widely been seen as a response to the ongoing speculation over the viral comparison post, with many fans praising her for speaking out against online negativity and manufactured rivalries.
