Earlier in January 2026, a first-semester pharmacy student jumped from the second floor of the University of Lahore’s pharmacy department. The student, originally from Narowal, sustained leg fractures and was hospitalized. According to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, while her condition is serious, there was no severe head injury, and authorities are still investigating the reason behind the incident.
Both cases highlight rising concerns about mental health support for young women in educational and healthcare settings in Lahore.
