“X Introduces Porn, But With Strict Controls for Underage Users”
Former Twitter Adapts to Porn, Implements Age Restrictions
ISLAMABAD: Adult content becomes a part of online adult entertainment, but its adaptation on social sites is the new norm, with the former Twitter now becoming the latest platform to welcome explicit content.
X made headlines alongside the platform’s XXX, leading to mixed reactions online. In a recent development, Elon Musk‘s platform X announced that it now allows pornographic content but will restrict adult and violent posts to users under 18 or those who have not opted in to view it. Will prevent it from being seen.
Adapting to growing regulatory pressure to protect children from inappropriate online content, the microblogging platform shares new policies to regulate what content can be viewed on the platform.
‘X goes to XXX
Under the new changes, social media users who post adult content on X, including nudity and sexual activity, need to adjust their media settings to be put behind a warning before their content can be viewed.
X will take action to adjust account settings if users fail to correctly label pornographic posts. Similar laws have been applied to violent content, including speech or media that promotes violence or harm.

The social giant’s new policy brings it in line with Apple’s guidelines, which allow apps with hidden user-generated mature content to appear. X is currently involved in a legal battle with the Australian e-Safety Commissioner over the removal of tweets from the stabbing attack, with the case set to be heard in the Federal Court.
Additionally, Twitter introduced new features, such as NSFW communities, to cater to users interested in adult content.
