WhatsApp Introduces New @all Feature to Improve Group Chat Experience

Currently, users need to mention each participant individually, which can be time-consuming and prone to missing some names.

ISLAMABAD: A new feature has been added to WhatsApp that will significantly enhance the way users interact in group chats.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has introduced the @all mention feature in the latest beta version for Android devices.

The feature, which has been in development for several weeks, is now being rolled out to selected beta users. It allows users to tag everyone in a group chat simultaneously by simply typing “@all”.

Currently, users need to mention each participant individually, which can be time-consuming and prone to missing some names. With this update, every group member will receive a notification — even if they have the chat muted.

This feature will be particularly useful for large groups or community chats, where sending important updates to all members at once is essential. Interestingly, it won’t be limited to group admins — any member will be able to use the @all tag.

Additionally, WhatsApp is also testing a separate option that will allow users to mute @all mentions, giving them more control over notifications.

The @all mention feature is currently available in WhatsApp’s beta version, and it’s not yet clear when it will roll out to all users globally.
