TAROUBA, Trinidad (News Desk) – West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the opening Test of the two-match series at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad, on Saturday.
The hosts, led by captain Roston Chase, opted to put runs on the board in the series opener. Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam, will look to make early breakthroughs with their pace attack on a pitch expected to offer assistance to bowlers later in the match.
Pakistan’s playing XI features Azan Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Shan Masood, Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, Ali Usman, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Abbas.
West Indies are represented by Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Brandon King, Kavem Hodge, Shai Hope (wicketkeeper), Amir Jangoo, Justin Greaves, captain Roston Chase, Kemar Roach, Jomel Warrican, Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seals.
