We Will Not Allow Attacks on Country Under Guise of Politics: Tarar

Lahore: Federal Minister for Information, Ataullah Tarar, stated that the country will not tolerate any attacks under the cover of politics.

While addressing a public gathering, Tarar emphasized, “If Pakistan exists, we all exist.” He mentioned that the 25 accused individuals involved in the events of May 9 were sentenced the previous day, as they had attacked the country’s defense installations and attempted to harm Pakistan’s sovereignty.

He reiterated that martyrs had sacrificed their lives for the country, and the peace and stability we enjoy today are the result of countless sacrifices. He urged that politics should be practiced within the bounds of civility and respect. “Disagree with politicians, but why this enmity with martyrs? By attacking defense installations, you fulfilled the enemy’s dream,” he said.

Tarar further declared that political terrorism would not be tolerated and assured that the mastermind behind the May 9 incident would also face justice, as he described it as an unforgivable crime. He added, “We are political people who believe in negotiations. We know how to talk and want to talk. However, we will not allow attacks on the country under the guise of politics.”

Criticizing PTI, Tarar accused them of hiring foreign lobbies and running campaigns against the country. He stressed that political parties come later; the country comes first.

Regarding electricity bills, Ataullah Tarar stated that during the summer, the Prime Minister had provided a subsidy of 50 billion rupees on electricity bills, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had given a 45 billion rupee subsidy. He also mentioned that a winter package for electricity bills was being introduced.
