Washington Targets Iran’s Lifelines, Tehran Warns of Devastating Response
Tehran's military chief says any fresh American pressure will trigger a fierce and coordinated reply across land, sea and air
Washington vs Iran – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – Iran has issued a fresh warning to Washington, saying its devastating response would follow any new round of pressure from the United States. The statement came after President Trump promised harsh economic penalties aimed at weakening Iran’s leadership, with more details expected soon from the US Treasury.
Iran’s top military official said the country was ready to hit back on every front, including land, sea, air, air defence and cyberspace. He described the possible reaction as crushing and forceful if Washington moves ahead with tougher sanctions.
The tension comes nearly six months into a conflict that began after US and Israeli strikes targeted Iran. Thousands of lives have been lost, and the fighting has pulled in other countries across the Gulf region while pushing global fuel prices higher.
Although American strikes have weakened Iran’s economy and traditional military strength, Tehran still holds enough missile and drone power to disrupt tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s parliament speaker admitted the sanctions were putting heavy strain on the country’s economy. He said no amount of military strength would matter if people struggled with hunger and weak economic growth.
Meanwhile, oil prices rose after the sanctions threat, as markets braced for tighter global supply. The US Treasury Secretary said the goal was to bring down Iran’s current government entirely.
China, which buys the majority of Iran’s oil exports, called for dialogue instead of pressure, warning that sanctions rarely solve underlying problems.
Gulf allies of the US also face risk, since Iranian strikes have already damaged energy and water facilities in the region. NATO’s top commander held discussions this week to explore ways of protecting shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, though officials clarified it was not an official NATO mission.
