Rawalpindi-Violent Altercation in Adiala Jail Results in Inmate Injury. A violent confrontation between two inmates at Adiala Jail left one prisoner injured by a knife. The altercation took place three days ago, on August 29, near Chakar Masjid within the jail grounds.

According to a report filed at Sadar Baruni police station, Havalati Atesh Hussain, who is in custody on a murder charge, attacked fellow inmate Anjum during a heated dispute.

Hussain used a homemade cutter to inflict wounds on Anjum’s neck, head, and shoulders. The injured inmate received prompt medical attention, and his medical report has been included in the case documentation.

Assistant Superintendent Imran Shahzad filed the complaint, and a case has been registered against Atesh Hussain. Chief Warden Nawab Khan and Warden Riaz Iqbal, who witnessed the incident, have also given their statements for the investigation.

Authorities are currently examining the factors that led to the conflict and will take appropriate action based on the results of the ongoing investigation.
