US issues security warning, advises citizens to avoid Serena hotel Peshawar
ISLAMABAD: The US Mission in Pakistan has issued a travel alert warning for its personnel and US citizens to avoid travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from November 27 till December 16.
The alert also advises American citizens to avoid a five-star hotel in Peshawar near Golf Club area until December 16 and to remain vigilant, review personal security plans, stay updated through local media, carry identification, and cooperate with authorities.
The US government has maintained a Level 4 ‘Do Not Travel’ alert for Pakistan, particularly for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The region faces frequent attacks by terrorist and insurgent groups targeting civilians, NGOs, government offices, and security forces. Risks include assassination, kidnapping, and attacks on polio vaccination teams, according to the advisory.
