US Considers Permanent Military Presence Inside Israel Report
Israeli Media Report Possible Expansion Of US Military Footprint

WASHINGTON: (Web Desk) – Reports in Israeli media have suggested that the United States Department of Defense is considering the possibility of establishing a more permanent military presence inside Israel, a development that could signal a significant shift in Washington’s long-term defence posture in the Middle East.
According to the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, citing senior security sources, any US forces currently stationed in Israel are not expected to be withdrawn, with discussions instead focusing on expanding and formalizing the existing military cooperation.
The reports suggest that ongoing talks between Washington and Tel Aviv are centered on strengthening the US military footprint rather than limiting it to temporary deployments or joint exercises. The proposed arrangements reportedly include enhanced strategic coordination between both allies.
Security sources further indicated that the proposals under consideration involve the deployment of advanced US air defence systems, along with the possible permanent stationing of fighter jet squadrons and additional military assets.
If implemented, the plan could position Israel as a potential hub for a larger and more permanent US military base in the region, reflecting what analysts describe as a broader strategic recalibration of American defence commitments in the Middle East.
