UK Opens Applications for Fully Funded Chevening Scholarships for Pakistani Professionals

ISLAMABAD— The British government has officially opened applications for its prestigious Chevening Scholarships, offering fully funded opportunities for Pakistani mid-career professionals to pursue a one-year master’s degree at leading universities in the United Kingdom.

In a statement issued by the British High Commission in Islamabad, the Chevening Scholarships are open to applicants with a minimum of two years of postgraduate work experience. Applications will be accepted online from August 5 to October 7, 2025.

The scholarship covers all major expenses, including university tuition fees, return airfare to the UK, visa costs, accommodation, and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott described the programme as “a launchpad for Pakistan’s exceptional future leaders,” encouraging professionals with a passion for leadership and social impact to apply.

“Chevening offers more than just a world-class education. It provides the space to grow, the networks to connect globally, and the confidence to lead with purpose,” she said.

Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership potential, networking skills, and the ability to influence change through real-life examples. The programme aims to foster long-term partnerships between Pakistan and the UK by immersing scholars in British academic, professional, and cultural life.

Launched in 1983, the Chevening Scholarship is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. To date, over 60,000 professionals from 160 countries have benefited from the programme — including more than 2,000 Pakistanis, many of whom now serve in senior roles across government, business, academia, and civil society.
