London (News Desk): The Environment Agency has officially declared seven areas of the United Kingdom as drought-affected regions following record-low rainfall and unusually high temperatures.
According to foreign media reports, severe drought conditions are impacting parts of England, with around half of the country facing increased pressure from prolonged dry weather.
The drought declaration includes London, along with areas such as the Thames Valley, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Devon, Cornwall, Wessex and the West Midlands.
Officials said the combination of extreme heat and a prolonged shortage of rainfall has placed significant pressure on rivers, reservoirs and agricultural land.
Experts have warned that if rainfall does not return soon, water shortages could intensify, potentially causing serious consequences for farming, the environment and daily life in affected urban areas.
