Islamabad: As his diplomatic tenure comes to an end, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, has penned a heartfelt farewell message expressing deep gratitude and admiration for the people and nation of Pakistan. In a moving statement titled “Shukria Pakistan”, the ambassador described his time in the country not merely as a professional assignment but as a “deeply human journey” filled with meaningful connections, shared values, and lasting memories.

H.E. Al Zaabi, who began his mission in Islamabad on September 17, 2017, said he never felt like a stranger in Pakistan. “In this generous land and among its noble people, I found open hearts and genuine hospitality,” he wrote, emphasizing the warmth, resilience, and kindness of the Pakistani people that left a lasting impact on him.

Reflecting on his years in Pakistan, the ambassador spoke of the cultural richness, strong bilateral relations, and personal friendships that defined his stay. “The years I spent here were not merely diplomatic duties—they were a full chapter of life,” he wrote, adding that the values he witnessed—loyalty, honor, tolerance, and dignity—continue to inspire him.

While bidding farewell in his official capacity, Ambassador Al Zaabi assured that his bond with Pakistan remains unbroken. “I may be leaving, but the love remains. The bonds we have built cannot be erased,” he said, expressing hope that the “bridges of friendship and cooperation” between the UAE and Pakistan will continue to grow stronger.

He concluded with a message of appreciation to the government, leadership, and people of Pakistan, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all… I will always remain a loyal friend of Pakistan.”
