Turkey warns Iran conflict could spark decades long regional crisis

ANKARA: (Web Desk) – İbrahim Kalın, head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization, has raised serious concerns about the escalating tensions involving Iran, cautioning that the conflict could spiral into a long-term regional crisis lasting decades.

While addressing the situation on Sunday, Kalın acknowledged Pakistan for its constructive role in promoting dialogue and encouraging diplomatic solutions. He reiterated that Turkey firmly backs ongoing efforts to ease tensions in the Gulf region through negotiations.

Kalın strongly condemned Iran’s recent strikes on Gulf nations, calling them unacceptable, and stressed the importance of identifying who initiated the conflict. He warned that if the situation continues unchecked, its consequences could impact billions of people worldwide, underscoring the gravity of the crisis.

He further stated that Turkey is ready to step in diplomatically to help de-escalate tensions and prevent further conflict, emphasizing the need for joint efforts by both regional and global stakeholders to preserve peace and stability.
