Tucker Carlson Claims Trump May Launch Nuclear Strike on Iran Soon
Tucker Carlson says a US attack on a mountain site in central Iran may be close, but the White House says no final decision has been made.
US vs IRAN – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – The Carlson nuclear strike claim has shaken social media after the US commentator said President Donald Trump could be days away from a major decision on Iran. He made the claim on Sunday in a long post on X.
Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer.
Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war.
To that end, he’s applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war they’ve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu’s lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha.
The rest of America’s longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They won’t recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people.
And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final.
We’ve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America’s nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called “battlefield nukes” easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now we’re on the brink of it.
Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, he’s hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made.
They’re right, though it won’t be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making.
One group that hasn’t been consulted so far is the global population — the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.

Tucker Carlson said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing Trump to approve an attack on a suspected nuclear site in central Iran. He named the site as Pickaxe Mountain.
BIG: Tucker Carlson says Trump may decide by Nov. 7 on a nuclear strike on Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain under Netanyahu’s pressure.
“After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable,” Carlson wrote.

These are Carlson’s own claims. The White House has not confirmed them, and officials say no final decision has been made.
Carlson is a conservative political commentator. He used to host Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News, which aired from 2016 to 2023.
Today he runs an independent show on X. He often speaks about US foreign policy and world affairs, so his posts reach a very large audience.
According to Carlson, Israeli intelligence believes Iran has restarted its nuclear enrichment work at Pickaxe Mountain.
He said the site sits under about 300 feet of solid granite. In his view, normal US weapons cannot break through that much rock.
That, he argued, leaves only one military option, which is a nuclear strike. This is the heart of the Carlson nuclear strike claim.
Carlson quoted an unnamed person who knows the situation. That person reportedly said Netanyahu calls Trump about the matter every day.
Carlson also said Netanyahu is acting partly to protect his own job. He claimed the Israeli leader needs help from Trump to win a 61-seat majority in the Knesset after the latest election results.
US President Donald Trump says American forces have destroyed much of Iran’s naval, air defense and military capabilities, along with its nuclear infrastructure. He says one or two sites remain, including Pickaxe Mountain, and asserts that the US could destroy them in just 10 minutes.

If he fails, Carlson warned, Netanyahu could lose power. He could then face investigations and even a prison term.
These are serious allegations. Carlson did not point to a public source for them, so readers should treat them with care.
He further said Netanyahu has been pressing senior American officials. He named Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Admiral Brad Cooper, who leads US Central Command.
The goal, he said, is to restart major combat operations against Iran.
He added that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe were following Netanyahu’s lead.
Carlson also said former president Barack Obama opposed the Iran peace deal that is being drafted in Doha.
Carlson said US allies in the Middle East are afraid the fighting will start again.
He claimed Netanyahu secretly flew to Abu Dhabi on September 27. The aim, he said, was to convince the UAE to back a final attack on Iran.
According to Carlson, Emirati officials said no.
He also spoke about the cost of the conflict. He said eight months of fighting have already hurt Gulf economies, along with global energy and fertiliser markets.
He claimed that 11 of the world’s roughly 850 oil supertankers were badly damaged in the Strait of Hormuz in October alone.
Carlson also warned about a nuclear blast at Pickaxe Mountain. In his words, it could pollute the Gulf and threaten the water supply of about 100 million people.
The most dramatic part of the Carlson nuclear strike claim is his warning about what could follow.
He said a US nuclear strike would set a dangerous example. Russia might feel free to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Tensions between India and Pakistan could flare up again. North Korea might attack Seoul.
“After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final,” he wrote.
Carlson also alleged that the Trump administration quietly changed US nuclear rules in February. He said the change makes the first use of so-called battlefield nukes easier and more likely.
He said Trump could decide by November 7 whether to approve the use of nuclear weapons.
Carlson added that Vice President JD Vance and special envoy Steve Witkoff are urging Trump to choose diplomacy instead.
He admitted that talks with Tehran would be hard. Still, he said people who have spoken with Iranian leaders believe nobody gains from more war. In their view, a deal is worth trying.
He ended with a message to the public. He argued that ordinary people have been left out of decisions that could put millions of lives at risk. “Now would be the time for them to speak up,” he wrote.
What Trump, Israel and Iran Have Said
Carlson’s post followed Trump’s remarks to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Saturday.
Trump said one or two Iranian nuclear sites are still possible targets. He said the US could hit them within 10 minutes.
He named Pickaxe Mountain directly. “You probably could look at Pickaxe Mountain, you have to take care of that. We can do that all very quickly,” he said.
He did not say that a nuclear strike had been approved.
In an October 16 interview with Newsmax, Trump clearly ruled out using nuclear weapons against Iran. That statement stands in sharp contrast to Carlson’s warning.
Axios also reported a tense phone call between Trump and Netanyahu on Saturday. The report cited Israeli and US sources.
Based on that report, Netanyahu wants new military action right after Tuesday’s US midterm elections. Trump, however, would rather let diplomacy continue.
A White House official said the administration does not comment on sensitive military plans. The official added that Trump is keeping all options open to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
Netanyahu is pressing Trump to resume strikes on Iran immediately after Tuesday’s U.S. midterm elections, but Trump wants to give diplomacy more time.
The two held a tense phone call Saturday, described as “tough” by an Israeli source and “direct” by a U.S. source.

Secretary of State Rubio has also said that no final decision has been made on restarting strikes.
Iran denies any nuclear activity at the Pickaxe Mountain complex. Its supreme leader has warned Washington and Tel Aviv not to launch more attacks.
What Readers Should Keep in Mind
So far, the facts are limited. Carlson made big claims, but he named very few sources.
Trump has publicly ruled out nuclear weapons, and officials say no final choice has been made. At the same time, Trump has talked openly about hitting Pickaxe Mountain, and Israel reportedly wants faster action.
This mix of signals is why the Carlson nuclear strike claim is getting so much attention. Some people see it as a warning that should not be ignored. Others see it as an unproven story built on unnamed sources.
The coming days may show which path Washington takes. The midterm elections and the November 7 date Carlson mentioned will be key moments to watch.
