Trump Reportedly Switched Aircraft Due to Iranian Threats During NATO Summit

Washington: (Web Desk) – A US newspaper has claimed that President Donald Trump had to switch aircraft during the NATO summit due to threats from Iranian proxies.

According to The New York Times, US Secret Service officials advised Trump to use the older Air Force One instead of the new aircraft gifted by Qatar while departing from Türkiye, citing security concerns linked to Iran.

The report claimed that Trump and Air Force One were both facing potential threats, while the decision raised questions about the security features of the aircraft provided by Qatar.

The report comes as Trump has held meetings with advisers and cabinet members to discuss whether to intensify military strikes against Iran.

Trump had traveled to Türkiye on July 7 aboard the new Air Force One for the NATO summit but used the older aircraft for his journey from Türkiye to the United Kingdom. According to the newspaper, the aircraft change was made at the last moment on the recommendation of the Secret Service because the new plane lacked certain security and counterterrorism technologies.

The US Department of Justice said the focus is not on the reporters but on those who leaked classified information.
