Trump announces Israel-Lebanon leadership talks on Thursday
Trump Steps In as Israel and Lebanon Prepare for First Talks in 34 Years
President Donald Trump – (Web Desk) – President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that the leaders of Israel and Lebanon are set to have a conversation on Thursday. This comes after senior officials from both countries met face-to-face in Washington on Tuesday — a historic moment, as it marks the first such meeting in over three decades, dating back to 1993.
Trump shared the news simply and directly, saying he’s working to ease tensions between the two neighboring countries. “It has been a long time since the two leaders have spoken, like 34 years,” he noted, adding that the conversation would be happening the following day.
However, Trump kept the details light — he didn’t mention exactly who would be on the call or what topics would be discussed. Still, the move is being seen as a significant step toward easing long-standing friction between Israel and Lebanon.
