WANA: (Web Desk) – A powerful explosion tore through Wana Bazaar in South Waziristan on Monday morning, leaving three people dead and three others injured, according to police officials.
Authorities confirmed that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) and appeared to specifically target tribal leader Sardar Malik Tariq, head of the Ahmedzai Wazir tribe.

Following the incident, police and security forces rushed to the site, cordoned off the entire area, and launched a search operation to track down those responsible for the attack. Senior police officials stated that the vehicle of the tribal chief was the intended target of the blast.
The attack has intensified concerns in the region, where tribal communities form a major part of the local population and have long been affected by periodic militant violence. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing.
