Thousands of Laptops to Be Distributed to Private School Students in Punjab

Minister announced the launch of the Teacher Takreem Awards for the first time.

LAHORE: Punjab’s Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar announced that the government will include students from private educational institutions in its laptop scheme, under which 10,000 laptops will be distributed.

The minister said the competent authority has approved the decision, and the distribution will take place within the year. He added that the education development budget has been increased to Rs. 110 billion.

Rana Sikandar further stated that the government upgraded 268 schools during 2025 and issued rulings in 37 cases related to harassment of teachers. He also announced the launch of the Teacher Takreem Awards for the first time.

The minister added that work has begun on establishing Centres of Excellence in 10 districts and developing 300 Schools of Eminence across the province.
