Sri Lankan Cricket Team Decides to Cut Short Pakistan Tour

Team manager of Sri Lanka also stated that the players are not willing to continue and want to return to Sri Lanka immediately.

Islamabad: The spokesperson for the Sri Lankan cricket team has confirmed that the team has decided to cut short its tour of Pakistan and return home. According to the spokesperson, the players have expressed their desire to leave the ongoing series midway due to undisclosed concerns.

Team manager of Sri Lanka also stated that the players are not willing to continue and want to return to Sri Lanka immediately.

Meanwhile, sources have reported that the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Interior Minister are expected to meet the Sri Lankan players shortly to discuss the situation. The team will be given a detailed security briefing during the meeting in an effort to address their reservations.

Earlier today, Sri Lanka cancelled its scheduled practice session following Pakistan’s decision to take a rest day. The cancellation of back-to-back training sessions has raised concerns about the continuation of the tour.

It is pertinent to mention that Sri Lanka was scheduled to play the remaining two One Day Internationals (ODIs) against Pakistan, followed by participation in a triangular series in the country.
