Special Prayer at Faisal Masjid Seeks Success for COAS, Emphasizes Unity and Peace
Professor Dr. Ahmad Saad Alahmed addressed key challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – A special prayer was offered at Faisal Masjid following the Juma sermon, seeking continued peace, stability and prosperity for Pakistan, and success for the Government in its efforts toward national progress and cohesion. The prayer was led by the Acting Rector and President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed.
The prayer congregation was attended by a number of senior officials, distinguished guests and a large gathering of worshippers from Islamabad and Rawalpindi, reflecting a collective spirit of unity, faith and supplication. In this context, the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, were acknowledged, and supplications were offered for his continued success in contributing to national security and to Pakistan’s constructive role in fostering peace at both regional and international levels.
On the occasion, Professor Dr. Ahmad Saad Alahmed addressed key challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah and highlighted the importance of unity, solidarity and cooperation among Muslim countries. He emphasized that in the present global context, strengthening mutual understanding and collective resolve remains essential for ensuring stability and progress across the Muslim world.
At the conclusion of the sermon, special prayers were offered for the unity of the Muslim Ummah, the guidance of its leadership, and peace and security across the world. Prayers were also made for Pakistan’s continued role in promoting regional and international peace and stability.

In his sermon, Professor Dr. Alahmed highlighted that Islam is a profound divine blessing that unites hearts and fosters brotherhood, while warning that division and discord lead to weakness and decline. Drawing upon Qur’anic guidance, he noted that Muslims are enjoined to hold firmly to the rope of Allah and to avoid discord, emphasizing that unity transforms division into cohesion and strength. He further stressed the importance of patience, perseverance and steadfastness, noting that true strength in Islam encompasses both moral integrity and material capability. The sermon underscored that adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah remains essential for maintaining collective discipline, stability and progress, particularly in the face of contemporary global challenges.
Following the Friday prayer, the visiting officials called on the President of the International Islamic University Islamabad, Professor Dr. Ahmad Saad Alahmed, where matters of mutual interest and avenues for strengthening cooperation were discussed in a cordial setting.
The congregation concluded with a renewed sense of collective responsibility, reflecting a shared commitment to unity, faith and the pursuit of peace.
