SM Qureshi and Yasmin Rashid indicted in May 9

The court adjourned the case to December 19, 2024, summoning prosecution witnesses at the next hearing.

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and senior leader Yasmin Rashid in the May 9 arson and vandalism case at Shadman police station following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

During the hearing, the court formally indicted several others for their involvement in setting fire to a police station and damaging government property. Both Qureshi and Rashid denied the charges.

The court adjourned the case to December 19, 2024, summoning prosecution witnesses at the next hearing.

The case is part of a broader legal response to the unrest that spread across the country following Khan’s arrest, which saw several incidents of arson, vandalism and clashes with law enforcement agencies.
