Sindh Private Schools Ordered to Enforce Fire Safety
Sindh Education Department Issues Strict Fire Safety Guidelines for Schools
KARACHI: The Sindh School Education Department has directed all private schools in the province to implement comprehensive fire safety measures, on Tuesday. Schools have been ordered to immediately install fire alarms, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers, while ensuring emergency routes and stairways remain clear at all times.
Regular inspections of electrical systems are now mandatory, and fire evacuation plans must be prominently displayed throughout school premises. Schools are also required to conduct fire drills at least twice a year and provide fire safety training for teachers and staff. Special arrangements for the safety of disabled students, as well as designated assembly points, have been made compulsory.
