Sindh Matric Exams Marred by Paper Leak Scandal

English Paper Leak Exposes Cheating in Sindh Matric Exams

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Widespread irregularities disrupted matriculation examinations in Sindh, as the English paper was reportedly leaked online before the exam began in districts including Khairpur, Ghotki, and Ubauro.

Reports of the leak quickly spread on social media, where students allegedly formed WhatsApp groups to share exam content and cheating material. Incidents of open cheating were reported at several examination centres, particularly in higher secondary schools located in Khambarah, Reti, and Kamon Shaheed.

The situation has raised serious concerns over the effectiveness of the Sindh Education Department’s anti-cheating measures, including its watermark system, which failed to prevent the leak.

Although Section 144 had been imposed around examination centres to restrict unauthorized access, witnesses reported large crowds gathering outside, pointing to weak enforcement by local authorities.

Raiding teams formed to curb malpractice were also criticized for remaining inactive, with reports suggesting they did not intervene despite ongoing violations.

The failure of district administrations to ensure a fair examination process has sparked criticism from education experts and the public, with growing demands for a transparent investigation and strict action against those involved in facilitating cheating.
