Sindh Assembly Rejects Debate on New Provinces: Bilawal
Bilawal Says Federal Government Has Not Discussed Proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said the Sindh Assembly has put an end to the debate over creating new provinces from Sindh, adding that the federal government has not held discussions on the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday during a visit to the historic Spencer’s Eye Hospital in Karachi’s Lyari area, Bilawal said the province’s future should be decided by its people. He urged politicians to focus on public service instead of promoting hatred and division.
Bilawal identified poverty and unemployment as major challenges facing Pakistan, saying people were under growing economic pressure. He added that the PPP was working to provide free healthcare facilities to the public.
The PPP chairman said Spencer’s Eye Hospital provides free eye examinations and treatment. The facility was restored and reopened on April 6, 2026, under Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab and provides free outpatient eye care to approximately 4,000 patients daily.
Bilawal also acknowledged the difficulties caused by load-shedding, saying the Sindh government was providing solar energy solutions to help residents address power shortages.
