Shan Masood Declines PCB Consultant Role to Focus on Cricket
Shan Masood expressed his gratitude to Mohsin Naqvi and politely declined the offer.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to assign national Test team captain Shan Masood the additional responsibilities of Consultant International Cricket and Players Affairs, following his request.
According to reports, after receiving the offer from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Shan Masood requested to be excused from the role, stating that his cricketing career is still ongoing and he wants to focus fully on his performance. He conveyed that it would be difficult to manage additional responsibilities alongside his playing commitments and thanked the chairman for considering him suitable for the position.

Shan Masood expressed his gratitude to Mohsin Naqvi and politely declined the offer. The PCB chairman accepted his position with understanding and extended his best wishes to the Test captain.
It is worth noting that Shan Masood is regarded as one of Pakistan’s most well-educated cricketers. Mohsin Naqvi had shown interest in utilizing his knowledge and understanding of the game, which led to a verbal offer being made in October to appoint him as a consultant.
