Security Forces Eliminate Nine Indian-Sponsored Militants in KP Operations

A second operation in the Tank district led to the death of two more Indian-sponsored militants in another intense gun battle.

RAWALPINDI: In a major counterterrorism effort, Pakistan’s security forces have killed nine Indian-sponsored militants in three separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Sunday.

The first operation took place in the Dera Ismail Khan district, where security forces engaged four militants after receiving intelligence regarding their presence in the area. Following a fierce exchange of fire, all four terrorists were neutralized.

A second operation in the Tank district led to the death of two more Indian-sponsored militants in another intense gun battle.

In the third encounter, conducted in the Bagh general area of Khyber district, troops killed three additional militants linked to cross-border terrorist activities.

According to security officials, all nine militants were involved in various acts of terrorism and subversive activities across the province. Arms, ammunition, and other warlike materials were recovered from the slain individuals.

The ISPR reiterated the resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to eliminate terrorism from the country and safeguard national security against all external threats.
