Salman Ali Agha Reacts to Controversial Run-Out in Bangladesh ODI
He said that if he had been in that situation, he would have probably made a different decision
DHAKA (Web Desk): Pakistan team’s middle-order batsman Salman Ali Agha, reacting to the controversial run-out in the second ODI against Bangladesh, has said that if he were in the place of the opposing player, he would have made a completely different decision.
During the match played at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, captain Mehdi Hasan Miraz ran out Agha Salman at the non-striker’s end, to which the Pakistani batsman expressed his anger while leaving the field.
Former Pakistani cricketers Ramiz Raja and Hamad Hafeez also called the Bangladesh captain’s action against sportsmanship, and Mehdi Hasan faced severe criticism on social media for this action.
In the press conference after the match, Agha Salman said that according to the law, Miran’s run-out was correct, but I think sportsmanship should have been preferred on this occasion.

He said that if he had been in that situation, he would have probably made a different decision. He felt that the ball had become dead after hitting the pad and bat, so he was trying to give it back to the bowler, considering it dead.
It should be remembered that in the match played yesterday, Bangladesh won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first, on which Pakistan scored 274 runs in 47.3 overs. Bangladesh was batting in pursuit of the target when the match had to be stopped due to rain.
When the match started after the rain, Bangladesh got a target of 243 runs in 32 overs, but the entire team could score 114 runs in 23.3 overs, and Pakistan won by 128 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
The three-match ODI series has been tied at one point, and the deciding match between the two teams will be played on Sunday.
