WWF Transformed into Modern, Transparent Institution Under Salik Hussain

Islamabad: (News Desk) – The Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) Islamabad has undergone a significant transformation under the leadership of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, emerging as a model of transparency, digital governance, and institutional efficiency.

The reforms align closely with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on workers’ welfare, strengthening public institutions, and ensuring economic stability.

According to official details, WWF has been converted into a fully digital organization through the introduction of a modern mobile application, Management Information System (MIS), and comprehensive digital record management. These initiatives have significantly improved transparency, service delivery, and administrative performance.

Financial discipline has also been strengthened through the implementation of a 100 percent cashless system, ensuring direct payments to beneficiaries via banking channels. Enhanced audit and monitoring mechanisms have further reinforced accountability, making WWF a benchmark for financial transparency.
Officials highlighted a major financial milestone, noting that effective governance and strategic investments have resulted in more than a fourfold increase in WWF revenue over the past three years.

In terms of worker welfare, benefits have been substantially increased. The marriage grant has been raised to Rs600,000, while the death grant now stands at Rs1 million. Additionally, the Hajj quota for low-income workers has been expanded to 85, reflecting a pro-worker policy approach.

The institution has also focused on sustainable development through better asset utilization. Key projects include the F-6 Business Center in Islamabad, development of modern labour complexes, and a diversified investment portfolio generating billions of rupees annually.
