Salaries of Ministers & Senators Revealed: Details inside

Islamabad: Amid growing concerns over inflation, the salaries and privileges of ministers and parliamentarians in Pakistan were revealed during a Senate session chaired by Senator Irfan Siddiqui. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar shared details on lawmakers’ earnings and the gap between public perceptions and their actual income.

Minister Tarar explained that parliamentarians receive a monthly salary of Rs 156,000, and do not have access to government-provided vehicles. They are also allotted Rs 8,000 for utility bills, which he described as insufficient given the rising cost of living.

He further clarified that ministers’ salaries are set at Rs 232,000, although 95% of ministers reportedly do not claim their full salaries. Ministers are also entitled to a 1500cc vehicle and 400 liters of fuel per month, but they are responsible for paying their own electricity and gas bills.
