Ronaldo Suffers Hamstring Injury Ahead of World Cup
Al Nassr Confirms Ronaldo Injury Before 2026 World Cup
RIYADH: (Web Desk) – Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has sustained a hamstring tendon injury, his Saudi club Al-Nassr confirmed on Tuesday. However, early indications suggest the setback is unlikely to threaten his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Media reports indicate the 41-year-old Portugal captain could be sidelined for two to four weeks. That recovery timeline would allow him to regain full fitness well before the tournament begins on June 11 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Al-Nassr stated that Ronaldo has already begun a rehabilitation programme and that medical staff will monitor his progress on a daily basis.
The veteran forward, who previously starred for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, picked up the injury during a Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Fayha last month.
Ronaldo is aiming to feature in a record sixth World Cup appearance, further cementing his legendary international career with Portugal.
